Please come join us! We are starting a new series of informal LWV Lake Forest/Lake Bluff Area meet ups. The purpose of these events is for local league members to connect with one another. Our first Let’s Connect will be on Thursday, August 1 at 10:30 at the Lake Forest Starbucks near Market Square. Wiebke will be there with a table flag so you can find her and the group. No need to register, just drop by. If you have suggestions for additional dates and locations for future Let’s Connect meetups please contact Wiebke.

Open to all Illinois League members! The League of Women Voters of Illinois has 43 local Leagues throughout the state. Local Leagues need to be well-prepared for the November 2024 election and the challenges it presents to our democracy. The best way to prepare is through an in-person/hybrid state assembly where we can focus on crucial actions for local Leagues to take in the coming months. Most state Leagues hold a State meeting in non-Convention years. A State meeting is a convening of local Leagues from one state for the purpose of planning and coordinating important work for the coming year. Since this is not a Convention, there are no officer elections, bylaws amendments, or budget reviews. Our official agenda will be available as we get closer to August 10, but here’s a sampling of what we will cover: Elections Task Force Rapid Response Plan How to Get Out the Vote with Smart Voter Data Misinformation and Disinformation League in Action LWVUS One Person One Vote Campaign Awards & Acknowledgements
