Shoreacres, with its fantastic view of Lake Michigan, is the perfect setting for our first gathering this year. Our annual Fall Kickoff will start promptly at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 10. It’s an exquisite location to “Celebrate Civic Engagement” and to honor longtime member Margaret Hart. Complimentary light refreshments will be served.
Fostering civic engagement is a League goal, and Margaret exemplifies it in both action and public concern. She served as president of the Lake County Republican Federation and twice served as a delegate to Republican Conventions. Her interest in education extended from serving as a school board member of elementary Lake Forest District 67 to board member emeritus of Lake Forest College. She has volunteered and provided support and the necessary leadership to improve the quality of our community, the region, and country. The League is proud to have earned her support over these many years.
Please join us for an afternoon overlooking the lake with veteran and new members alike while we pay tribute to Margaret's many years of dedication to the League and the community. Lake Forest Mayor Robert Lansing and Lake Bluff President Kathleen O'Hara will also speak briefly about our towns at the Kickoff. The event is free to members and their guests (bring a prospective member!). Tickets for raffle baskets will be sold at the door.
Limited seating. Reservations required by September 6. Please contact Linda Bartmes (847-234-7069) or complete the form below. Shoreacres is located at 1601 Shoreacres Road (off of Sheridan Road) in Lake Bluff.
