Cuba at the Crossroads

The League of Women Voters of Lake Forest/Lake Bluff Area invite the public to a forum to learn about the latest developments and policies in Cuba from Alberto Coll, J.D., Ph.D., director of global engagement and professor of law at the DePaul College of Law (Chicago). The event starts at 2 p.m. on September 23 at Dickinson Hall (100 E. Old Mill Road, Lake Forest); co-sponsors include Great Decisions and Dickinson Hall. The event is free.

Coll is widely recognized as a leading expert on Cuba. He has traveled to Cuba on academic visits many times since 1999, developing extensive connections with Cuba’s legal community, government officials, and private sector.

Born and raised in Cuba, Coll was a member of the Council on Foreign Relations 2000 Task Force on Cuba and the Council on Foreign Relations 2008 Task Force on Latin America, served on the board of Americans for Humanitarian Trade with Cuba, and is a board member of the Cuba Research Center.
