The League of Women Voters of Lake Forest/Lake Bluff Area will present a forum featuring experts in diverse fields affected by gun violence on Sunday, November 11. The event starts at 2 pm at First Presbyterian Church (700 N. Sheridan Road, Lake Forest). Featured speakers include:

  • Colleen Cicchetti, PhD (executive director of the Center for Childhood Resilience, Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago)
  • Roman Buchberger (deputy, Lake County Sheriff's Office)
  • Dr. Ingrid Wiemer (executive director of student services, Lake Forest School District 67)
  • Sara Knizhnik (Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence)

The panel will provide guidance and practical steps to help individuals and families understand the local context of gun violence and work toward a safer community.

The event is free and open to the public.
