The League of Women Voters of Lake Forest/Lake Bluff Area invites the public to attend its next state fiscal policy program, "Beyond the State Budget Impasse: Impacts and Next Steps," on October 25. Come hear Julie Morrison, Illinois State Senator for the 29th District; Sarah Wetmore, Vice President of The Civic Federation; and attorney John Bouman, President of the Sargent Shriver National Center on Poverty Law, discuss the new state budget and its impact. The program will be moderated by the Honorable Susan Garrett, Chair of the Illinois Campaign for Political Reform. The event is complimentary and open to the public.
This public program is a continuation of our ongoing series of forums addressing Illinois state fiscal policy. In April of this year, we heard from State Representative Scott Drury of the 58th District and attorney Ralph Martire, Executive Director of the Center for Tax and Budget Accountability about the state budget impasse. We look forward to seeing you as we learn about the impact of the recently passed state budget throughout the state.
